Mental Wellbeing - Understanding Death
Mental Wellbeing - Understanding Death
Today we buried my Sister-in-Law, she was just 51 yrs old, she actually died aged 50! From a black and white 2D perspective, this is devastating on too many levels. I am writing this blog to capture this experience and discuss my views and understanding about death.
A dark take on death
In our modern culture, death is regarded as a final ending, something dark and foreboding. An agonising encounter to be endured. We presume a life cut short is a bad thing and feel ignorantly entitled to a lengthy stay.
How about flipping that perspective?
But there is an alternative view-point, which would give more peace than pain! And it definitely worth considering, because death brings powerful opportunities for transformation and change.
Celebration of life
How about treating death, as a celebration of that person's soul achieving its life goals'? How about not feeling it as a final ending, a loss? How about acknowledging they're still here, just in a less tangible form, believing is seeing!
Would your loved one want you to suffer?
And, at the very least, do you really think they would want you to suffer and be crushed? Anyone who gets the chance to plan for their departure, always asks to be remembered in a happy celebratory way, unless they are a self-serving egotistical SoB! Wouldn't you?
Death has lost its purpose
We've become so spiritually divorced from souls, that taking this oppositional stance is largely inconceivable and laughingly dismissed as 'a bit crackers'. We've become blind to appreciating and acknowledging death as a sacred experience for us to learn from and grow; something that gives rather than takes.
Death been turned into a grief-stricken, painful shutting down from participating in and enjoying life process, framed in survivor's guilt. Why, why, why? Why make that person's life in vain?
We're all made of stars
I never tire of relaying this message. Humans are made of energy and thus stars! I explain this in more details in my blog on Energy. Adding scientifically proven fact into this theory is that at the moment of conception there is flash of blue light energy.
I can confirm this because I felt it every time.
You can see a soul
That energy, which can travel and move after death, is our soul. Which is why dead bodies look so waxen, the souls have departed. I discuss souls and auras in my blog on What is the point of life.
Life's purpose
I believe that we live many different corporeal lives over time. The overall purpose being to gain the ultimate level of wisdom and become part of God, again I cover this in my blog What is the point of life.
What or who is god?
God to me, is an all-seeing creative mass of positive energy life/Mother Nature.
So, each life time's purpose is to learn the next lesson until finally you are a totally rounded soul who 'knows' we're all part of each other and this world. Hence why this lesson gets repeated, ever more painfully, throughout our lives until we 'get it'. If we don't, we just repeat until we do, we chose this journey before we're born.
Something beyond life
Humans have always acknowledged there is something beyond bodily existence. What that is now has been changed by modern patriarchal religions to suit their quest for power and submission. It’s a pale imitation of what we knew it to be.
Mexico's celebration of death
In Mexico, and now Internationally, many do celebrate death. There are celebrations across the world to celebrate the life in death and to keep the loved ones souls close.
Grief makes you ill
Imagine how good it would feel to adopt this more positive affirming take on death. Because prolonged sadness and guilt have a very detrimental effect on mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing, it's not good for us!
Here but unseen
So in conclusion, I know the following things; my sister-in-law is still here and with her loved ones, they feel her and know this. She did an amazing job of raising two very special, rounded individuals who've been deepened and enriched by this tragedy. From it they've gained the skills to go on to living much more fulfilled lives.
It is the human condition that sufferance leads ultimately to happiness!
